Tips For Managing Anxiety

Slow down. Take a moment to breathe and appreciate the small things that life has to offer. If you live a fast paced lifestyle or feel overwhelmed sometimes during your day then these tips might help you.



1. Slow things down.

That could mean narrowing down the most important tasks based on deadline and prioritizing your main goals for the time being. Also, Minimizing to top three tasks could help you slow down your mind from thinking of the other many things you might have to do.


2. Take Deep Breathes

This is essential. Let the oxygen flow to your brain. Relax your mouth, shoulders, jaw and hands. Shake it out. Then count at least five deep breathes.


3. Be Mindful

That could be realizing when you feel tension in your body or overwhelming thoughts approaching. Don't take on more than you can handle. As well as when around new people, don't worry too much about what they think of you and try to be yourself.


4. Exercise

ENERGY ! Take that power and get physical. If you're into the outdoors then try nature runs, yoga on the rocks by a lake or go swimming. For indoors you could try dance cardio or Wii Fitness games. If you really want to be resourceful then you can carry your laundry up & down the stairs. Defusing some energy could help ease nerves.


5. Eat Healthy

"You are what you eat" they say. Try to stay away from sugary foods, they don't give your body the energy it needs to power your mind and body. Get a good amount of fruits and vegetables. A glass of water in the morning when you wake up can do you wonders.
